Linjer Review: Quality, minimal gold & silver jewellery online store

**This is not a sponsored post but an honest review from my experience with the brand and its products**

A jewellery brand needs to check off quite a few boxes for me – it needs to have minimal, elegant designs, be reasonably priced, last at least a year in the humid Hong Kong climate, and make some efforts in sustainability.

As you’ll see in this review, Linjer checked all those boxes where other brands were lacking in one or more criteria as I was searching for quality jewellery that ships from Hong Kong.

Please note that this review is only on Linjer’s jewellery offerings but they also do sell other accessories such as bags and watches.

Pros

Value for money

The biggest appeal to me is that Linjer is a quality option for people who prefer simple, basic jewellery styles that can match any outfit. I found the quality is much better than another similar Hong Kong brand éclater but with more affordable options than a brand like Monica Vinader.

Linjer seems like a reasonable alternative if you’re looking for jewellery that doesn’t look cheap and can last without the burden of an excessive price tag.

Sustainability

There are different ways in which Linjer is a sustainable brand that also wins additional scores for me.

In terms of the packaging, the products came in a small cardboard box that could be easily recycled and enclosed in plastic zip bags that are marked as 100% degradable.

And according to Linjer, their solid gold and sterling silver jewellery are all made from 100% recycled gold and silver.

Their Sustainability page provides information on other ways they are making an effort as a brand.

Cons

Limited design and products

Linjer is one of the brands where the range of designs and products is admittedly small. While it may mean more focus on quality and other aspects of the business, I do wish there were more options especially in terms of colour and material.

Their jewellery isn’t offered in rose gold, for instance, at the time of writing this review in August 2023.

Long delivery time

My second time purchasing from Linjer was for a pre-order item and this took almost a month to arrive. Especially if timed with a big sale and any shipping delays, it could be quite  a long wait even with the email updates from customer service.

Buying Tips

  • Take advantage of regular discount codes for jewellery – bookmark the items you like and wait until there is a discount announced on the site (at the site’s top-most banner) to make the purchase. The discounts come around regularly and can be quite significant so be a little patient when you don’t see an ongoing sale!

  • Check if the product is a pre-order item – pre-order items are indicated on the product pages so you can decide to ‘add to cart’ only if you’re okay to wait longer than the normal delivery time.
